What is an EMDR Intensive?

An EMDR Intensive is a therapy program that comprises 6-8 hour sessions for 2 to 5 consecutive days. Unlike traditional weekly or bi-weekly hour-long sessions, the EMDR Intensive allows you to work through your issues intensively and fast-track the healing and relief you seek. This approach enables you to deal with multiple issues simultaneously, rather than dealing with them over an extended period. It is a great alternative for those who want to move forward with their life quickly and efficiently.

What does a typical day of an EMDR intensive consist of?

Our sessions are designed to help you heal and grow. We will begin each day by taking the time to understand your history and plan the best treatment for you. Throughout our work together, I will introduce you to different resources that will help you continue your healing journey long after the intensive is over. Together, we will explore different types of bilateral stimulation that can be used during the desensitization phase of EMDR. I will also teach you several methods of communication that we will utilize during EMDR to leave you feeling more safe and in control. Remember to take breaks as needed, and at the end of each day, focus on relaxing and taking care of yourself. Trust the process, and allow your body and mind to begin the healing process.

How do I know if an intensive is right for me?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a type of therapy that is designed to help people process traumatic experiences and negative beliefs. Unlike other forms of therapy that may take months or even years to produce results, EMDR can be very intense but also very effective. Intensives are typically spread out over several days and can involve multiple sessions per day. They are designed to help people make significant progress in a short amount of time.

If you're struggling to find time for weekly therapy sessions, or if you feel like you're not making progress with your current therapy, an EMDR intensive might be right for you. Intensives can help you process old and new wounds quickly and can lead to immediate change. They are ideal for people who have busy schedules and can't commit to regular therapy sessions or who are looking to do deeper work.

If you're interested in learning more about EMDR intensives, feel free to contact me to schedule a free consultation. During the consultation, I can answer any questions you may have and help you decide if an intensive is the right choice for you.

How much time do I need to schedule?

The length of the intensive therapy program is determined by several factors such as your personal history, attachment styles, and the complexity of your trauma. During our intake consultation, we will discuss your goals and the specific issues you want to address. We will also ask you to fill out an intake form to help us understand your needs better.

From there, I will create a personalized plan that meets your needs and helps you achieve your goals. This program is designed to provide you with the support and guidance you need to overcome any obstacle. I believe that with the right tools and techniques, you can transform your life and create a brighter future.

We will work together to identify your strengths and build on them. I will also help you develop new coping skills and strategies to manage your challenges effectively. The goal is to empower you to take control of your life and achieve lasting change. With dedication and commitment, you can achieve all that you desire.

How much will it cost?

I can guarantee that when you book an intensive session with me, I will be fully dedicated to working with you for the entire day. My daily rate for this service is $1000, which is a reduced price from my standard hourly rate. Furthermore, I will only charge you for the time we use, rounded up to the nearest half-day.

It's important to note that an intensive session is more than just a great deal. It's a valuable investment in your personal growth and well-being. An intensive session can be more cost-effective than years of EMDR therapy to achieve the same objectives, and with my undivided attention and expertise, you can expect to see faster progress and better results.

To confirm the dates for the intensive session, I require a 50% deposit payment. The remaining balance will be collected at the beginning of each day of the intensive.

What if I need to cancel?

In the event that you are unable to attend your scheduled Intensive, kindly inform me at your earliest convenience so we can discuss rescheduling options. Please note that your deposit is non-refundable, however, I will make every effort to accommodate your needs and find a suitable alternative date.

Will my insurance help pay for the intensive?

At this time, insurance companies will not cover the cost of intensives. I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company. The insurance company may or may not reimburse you a small portion of the total amount.

Do I have to live in Savannah to do an intensive?

Intensives have the advantage of being concentrated into a few days of work rather than being spread over several weeks. This allows clients to travel to Savannah from anywhere in the world for a few days to participate in an Intensive. It is one of the many beautiful things about Intensives.
